The special assigned subject electronic competition is held each month (held in addition to the regular image  competitions). The categories for the assigned subject competitions for the season are determined at the last meeting by popular vote of the members attending the meeting. The results are announced at the Awards Banquet.

In contrast to the general competition of (prints, electronic, slides), which have no time limit, special category electronic images must not be older than 5 years. This competition is conducted after the regular electronic photograph competition has been concluded. In these competitions all members compete together.

·   Entries: Three maximum per contest. Must not be older than 5 years old.

·    Electronic images will be e-mailed before midnight on the Friday night preceding each contest. They may also be given/mailed on floppy disk or CD anytime prior to the deadline.

·    Judging: An in-out scoring system is used. The winning image shows the best interpretation of the category title that adheres to definition and is of good quality. Slides receiving two "ins" will be held until there are three that receive three "ins". Then all slides receiving two "ins" are dropped.

·    Points will be awarded as follows: 1st place, 3 points; 2nd place, 2 points; and Honorable Mention, 1 point. These points will count toward an award for highest cumulative point total for the year.
